The National Week of Very Small, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (French acronym SN-TPME) 2026, organized under the theme "Public-Private Synergy: Optimizing the Support Infrastructure for SMEs" stands as a flagship event for entrepreneurial development in Togo.
IYBA-SEED Togo, as a technical and financial partner, is proud to join this major initiative alongside public actors, private stakeholders, and professional associations to strengthen dialogue and cooperation around the structural challenges related to the growth and transformation of VSMEs in Togo.
The Context
The Togolese private sector is the backbone of the national economy. Very Small, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) represent the bulk of the entrepreneurial fabric and contribute significantly to job creation, local transformation, and the dynamisation of territories.
Despite modernization efforts and ongoing institutional reforms, the entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to face challenges such as: weak coordination between support mechanisms, fragmentation of support systems, persistent difficulties in accessing financing, low bankability of SMEs, and a lack of structuring in value chains.
In response to these challenges, Togolese Professional Associations and Organizations (PAOs) have decided to establish a permanent national framework for consultation, advocacy, and action. It was in this context that the National SME Week (SN-TPME) was initiated in 2024, under the leadership of GTPME/PMI and RTPE. One of its major deliverables is the SME White Paper.
For its 3rd edition (2026), SN-TPME aims to be an autonomous and endogenous initiative of the private sector, seeking to: federate PAOs, support Public-Private dialogue, optimize the support infrastructure, strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs.
Objectives
This initiative, scheduled from May 5 to June 3, 2026, is built around four key ambitions:
- Launch, Framework, and Structuring of the Future National Platform of Professional Associations and Organizations (PAOs) for SMEs: Presentation of the vision, methodology, and regional workshops to facilitate the implementation of the platform.
- Strengthen Public-Private Dialogue to Address Challenges Identified in the SME White Paper: Strategic panels with regional focus.
- Optimize the Support Infrastructure: Exchanges and launch of the SME Performance Challenge, which will allow 30 SMEs to benefit from: personalized diagnostics,12 months of support to improve their governance, easier access to financing, and increased business opportunities.
- Promote "Made in Togo" and Business Meetings to Facilitate SME Access to Regional and International Markets: Regional exhibitions and the National Fair in Kara.
These events provide a unique opportunity to: create business links between SMEs and buyers, investors, and financial institutions, promote local innovation and high-potential sectors (agro-processing, crafts, light industry).

Through its expertise in supporting young African businesses, it will organize masterclasses and share its Entrepreneurship Support Services (ESS) Framework, a tool designed to professionalize the support ecosystem and offer entrepreneurs assistance that meets international standards.
